Join Hillbilly Proud as celebrate the 151st  anniversary of West Virginia with a special thanks to Shentel

Saturday and Sunday June 14-15, 2014
Holly-Gray Park Sutton, WV
A celebration of West Virginians, heritage, talent, and home.


The third annual event will be a 2 day celebration honoring the founding of our great state on June 20, 1863.

For all of you motor sport fans, Mid-State Chevy will host a a three pit mud bog with record holding mud racers. There is a Speed Pit, 2' Pit, a Deep Pit mud bog and on Sunday morning a Kids mud race (Battery operated).

Don't miss the motors at the WVStreets.co Car Show on Saturday and 4x4 Show Sunday. Registration will be open until 1:00 pm.m and prizes and trophies will be awarded.

Live entertainment will be provided by The Davisson Brothers Saturday night with opening act The Mon Valley Pickers. Sunday is a special Father's Day Shows at 1:00 p.m. with The Davisson Brothers Band joined by The Eddie Davisson Band (father), Landon McFadden (nephew) and Owen Schmitt (close friend and WVU football legend)

A variety of vendors from near and far will also be set up allowing visitors to get a few goodies as well as food and drinks without leaving the park. Some great community groups like the Black Diamond Girl Scouts and the local Braxton county Animal Shelter will also be on site.

Activities and entertainment will be provided for all ages. Games and prizes will be available throughout the day, inflatables will be available and children will have their own special area, including a changing station to try to meet all of a child's needs. Raffle and door prizes will be awarded through the day and the first 500 cars through the gate will get a FREE gift each day.

Featured West Virginian Artists


Kaylee Stout, a Braxton county resident with a stellar voice, has volunteered to start things off in the motorsport area. Kaylee has performed at several events lately, including a WV  Power baseball game and The Voice tryouts, and will be singing the national anthem for us at the WV Day Festival. She is also an animal rights activist and will have an area set up with the Braxton County Animal Shelter at the WV Day Festival.

The Davisson Brothers Band will be celebrating 150 years of West Virginia by bringing their hillbilly, footstompin' music to Holly Gray Park on June 15th.


SHOW TIME: Saturday 7:00 p.m.

The Mon Valley Pickers is a local bluegrass band that has been playing area fairs and events for years and will be opening for The Davisson Brothers Band on Saturday night.


SHOW TIME: Sunday 1:30 p.m.

The Eddie Davisson Band will be performing with the Davisson Brothers Band at the Schmitt's Saloon Father's Day Special Show. The band is headed by Eddie Davisson, father of the legendary musicians Chris and Donnie of The Davisson Brothers Band


SHOW TIME: 1:00 p.m.

To join The Davisson Brothers Band and The Eddie Davisson Band, we have invited Chris & Donnie's nephew Landon McFadden tot he stage. Owen Schmitt will also be taking part of the festival and participating in the family show. The WVU football legend is a close friend to the Davisson Brother's Band and a strong supporter of Hillbilly Proud and The WV Day Festival.
